National Institute of Hydrology invites application for the position Junior Research Fellow
Project/Sub-Project Title: NHP/ Modelling and management of erosion and sedimentation processes in alluvial river using morphodynamic modelling. (NIH-34_2019_107)
No. of Post: 02
Duration: 01 Years (may be extended to 3 years)
Emoluments per month: Rs. 31,000/- + HRA ( as admissible)
Qualification Essential:
(i) Post Graduate in Earth Science/ Applied Geology/ Environmental Science/ Environmental Resource Management.
OR
(i) M.E./M.Tech in Civil Engg. /Water Resources/ Hydrology/ Environmental Engg./ Agricultural Engg/ Soil & Water Conservation Engg./ Remote Sensing.
Selection in Post Graduate Course through a process described as any one of the following:
a. Scholars selected through National Eligibility Tests- CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE
b. The selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, BITs etc.
A. Junior Research Fellow (1) Nature of Work: Field investigations, lab experiments (sediment analysis), data processing and support in hydrological modeling. Desirable: Preference will be given to candidates having experience of hydrological modeling using software such as MIKE series/ HEC series, work on sediment analysis, field surveys, etc.
B. Junior Research Fellow (2) Nature of Work Satellite data analysis/ GIS related work, Geostatistical analysis, statistical analysis/ Field data collection using DGPS/ echo-sounder etc Desirable: Preference will be given to candidates having experience of hydrological modeling along with GIS applications like Arc Map/ QGIS/ ERDAS etc.
