Position Overview
The Junior Sales Development Executive (SDE) in a fintech company plays a key role in identifying and qualifying potential customers for the company’s financial products or technology services. This entry-level sales position is designed for individuals who are early in their careers and looking to build a strong foundation in fintech sales, lead generation, and client engagement.
As a Junior SDE, you will be responsible for reaching out to leads, educating potential clients about the company’s offerings (such as digital payments, wealth platforms, lending tech, SaaS for finance, etc.), and setting up qualified meetings or demos for senior sales executives. This role is ideal for self-driven individuals with strong communication skills, a passion for financial technology, and a desire to grow in a fast-paced, tech-driven industry.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead Generation & Prospecting

Research, identify, and generate new business leads through various channels such as LinkedIn, email campaigns, web research, referrals, and fintech events.

Develop a deep understanding of the target market, buyer personas, and customer pain points.

Maintain a daily/weekly pipeline of qualified prospects based on predefined criteria (industry, company size, tech stack, revenue, etc.).
2. Outreach and Communication

Conduct high-volume outbound communication through cold emails, LinkedIn messages, and introductory calls.

Clearly articulate the value proposition of the fintech solution in a way that resonates with potential customers.

Personalize outreach based on customer profiles and continuously test messaging for better engagement.
3. Qualification & Handoff

Pre-qualify leads by understanding their business needs, timeline, budget, and decision-making process.

Schedule discovery calls or product demos with the appropriate sales executives or solution consultants.

Ensure all lead data is correctly entered and updated in the CRM system.
4. CRM and Pipeline Management

Maintain detailed records of lead activity, communication logs, and sales interactions using tools like Salesforce, HubSpot, or Zoho CRM.

Monitor KPIs such as emails sent, calls made, meetings booked, and conversion rates.

Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to ensure smooth coordination and handover of leads.
5. Market & Product Knowledge

Stay updated on fintech industry trends, competitor products, and regulatory changes.

Understand the company’s product suite thoroughly — including payment platforms, lending APIs, digital onboarding, or investment platforms.

Continuously improve product pitch based on feedback from prospects and the sales team.
6. Collaboration

Work closely with the marketing team to align lead generation strategies with active campaigns.

Share insights and feedback from prospects to help improve product positioning and messaging.

Attend weekly sales meetings, training sessions, and team reviews.
