Job Description
Key Responsibilities
1. Food Preparation Assistance

Wash, peel, cut, and chop vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients.

Assist chefs in basic cooking tasks such as boiling, frying, grilling, and garnishing dishes.

Prepare ingredients according to recipes and ensure accurate portioning.

Measure and mix ingredients following kitchen instructions.

Assist in marinating meats, cleaning seafood, and preparing dough or batters when required.
2. Kitchen Cleaning and Maintenance
-
Wash utensils, dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment after use.

Wipe counters, cooking surfaces, and kitchen furniture regularly.

Keep refrigerators, storage areas, and workstations clean and organized.
-
Follow hygiene standards to maintain a safe and sanitary kitchen environment.

Dispose of kitchen waste and garbage safely and responsibly.
3. Inventory and Stock Management
-
Assist in receiving, unpacking, and storing kitchen supplies and ingredients.

Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the chef or kitchen manager.
-
Ensure ingredients are stored properly to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage.
-
Label containers and follow first-in, first-out (FIFO) practices for stock rotation.
4. Support for Cooking and Serving

Assist chefs and cooks during busy meal hours by preparing simple dishes.

Plate and garnish food items neatly before serving.
-
Deliver food from the kitchen to serving counters if required.
-
Refill condiments, sauces, and other essentials on the serving line.
5. Safety and Hygiene Compliance
-
Follow proper food safety and handling guidelines.

Wear protective gear like gloves, aprons, caps, and masks while working.

Immediately report any kitchen hazards, equipment malfunctions, or accidents.

Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies.
