Job Description
We’re looking for a proactive L2 Application Support Engineer with 3+ years of experience, strong in SQL and PL/SQL, and skilled in system automation and optimization. Experience in the financial domain is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide L2 support for business-critical applications, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
· Investigate, analyze, and resolve incidents and service requests raised by users or escalated from L1 support.
· Write and optimize complex SQL/PLSQL queries for issue resolution, reporting, and performance tuning.
· Automate repetitive support tasks and contribute to system optimization initiatives.
· Collaborate with development, QA, DevOps, and infrastructure teams for root cause analysis and permanent fixes.
· Monitor application health using various tools and respond to alerts proactively.
· Maintain detailed documentation on support procedures, issue resolutions, and known issues.
· Participate in deployment support, patch management, and environment maintenance.
· Work on service improvement plans to enhance stability, availability, and efficiency of supported systems.
Required Skills:
· Strong knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL for data investigation, debugging, and performance tuning.
· Good understanding of Linux/Unix systems, shell scripting is a plus.
· Experience with system automation and optimization techniques/tools.
· Familiarity with incident, change, and problem management processes (ITIL is a plus).
· Excellent communication and documentation skills.
· Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
Nice to Have:
· Exposure to financial/banking domain or working with financial applications.
· Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Splunk, AppDynamics).
· Familiarity with ticketing tools like JIRA, ServiceNow, or Remedy.
· Basic understanding of APIs and web services.
