Lab Intern
Job Description
Internship Objective:
The internship is designed to provide practical exposure to real-world electronics manufacturing processes. Interns will assist with component soldering, circuit assembly, product testing, and final packaging under the supervision of experienced engineers and technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Component Assembly
-
Assist in assembling electronic circuit boards (PCB assembly) as per design specifications.

Identify and place through-hole and surface-mount components (SMD) correctly.

Perform manual soldering of electronic components using soldering iron, hot air gun, or reflow station.

Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for component layout and board preparation.
2. Testing & Inspection
-
Support in conducting basic electrical tests such as voltage checks, continuity testing, and functionality tests using multimeters, oscilloscopes, or signal generators.

Verify assembled boards or modules for errors, loose connections, and defects.

Report faulty units and assist in reworking defective assemblies.
3. Packaging & Labeling
-
Participate in the safe handling, packaging, and labeling of tested and approved electronic units.

Ensure ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) safe handling of all components during packaging.

Help prepare products for dispatch or storage in compliance with company protocols.
4. Documentation & Quality Compliance

Fill in daily work reports and production logs as required.

Follow quality control guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Learn and adhere to safety and EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) standards in the lab or shop floor.
Skills Required:
-
Basic knowledge of electrical and electronic components (resistors, capacitors, ICs, etc.)

Hands-on experience in soldering (through-hole or SMD)

Familiarity with basic tools such as multimeters, soldering stations, wire strippers, etc.

Understanding of circuit schematics or layout diagrams (basic level)
Other Requirements:

Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail

Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision

Basic computer literacy (MS Excel, Word for documentation)

Willingness to work in a lab or production floor setting
