Job Description

Gender: Male/Female (Females with 5+ years of experience preferred)
Qualification: Relevant degree or certification in laboratory sciences

Key Responsibilities
1. Sample Collection and Preparation

Collect, label, and store biological or chemical samples accurately, following established protocols.

Prepare samples for testing by measuring, diluting, or mixing reagents and solutions as required.

Follow proper procedures for handling hazardous or infectious materials, using PPE and containment tools.
2. Laboratory Testing and Analysis
-
Conduct laboratory tests using appropriate equipment such as centrifuges, microscopes, spectrophotometers, or analyzers.

Perform routine and specialized tests based on standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Record observations, test results, and anomalies carefully and accurately.
3. Equipment Operation and Maintenance
-
Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment regularly to ensure optimal performance.

Identify and report malfunctions, perform troubleshooting, and schedule repairs when necessary.

Maintain logs for equipment usage, calibration, and maintenance.
4. Data Management and Reporting
-
Enter test results into laboratory information systems (LIMS), spreadsheets, or documentation logs.

Prepare reports and summaries for supervisors or clinicians, highlighting any abnormal findings.

Maintain accurate records for quality audits, regulatory compliance, or research publications.
5. Compliance and Safety

Follow all health and safety regulations and protocols to prevent contamination, accidents, or chemical exposure.

Dispose of laboratory waste properly, including biohazardous and chemical materials.

Participate in internal safety drills, inspections, and audits to ensure ongoing compliance.
6. Inventory and Laboratory Support

Monitor stock levels of laboratory consumables, reagents, and equipment supplies.

Place orders or notify procurement teams when inventory is low.

Assist in organizing and maintaining the cleanliness of the lab environment, including glassware sterilization and workspace sanitation.
7. Collaboration and Training

Collaborate with scientists, researchers, clinicians, or quality control teams on ongoing projects and experiments.

Participate in team meetings to discuss findings, lab issues, and process improvements.

Provide assistance in training junior staff, interns, or students in basic lab procedures when necessary.
