Job Description

1.Receiving lP / oP samples

2. Checking correctness of requisition form

3. Check the requisition slip for the test and the signature of the Doctor/Nurse

4. Prepare and reassure patient for sample collection

5. Prepare labels for tubes and slides if required

6. Receive/collect samples, following strict aseptic technique

7. instruct patient on the aseptic way of a collection of samples for microbiology investigation

8. Ensure proper transportation of samples

9. Carry out examination of samples/procedures as per the standards

10. Preparing and staining of smear

11.Preparing media, conducting routine tests

12. Testing and reporting of samples accurately

13. Assess the abnormal results, repeat, confirm and check with previous results

14. inform the Consultant & in-charge nurse of the concerned department about abnormal results

15. Process the samples and dispatch the reports as per the schedule.
