Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Laser Cutting Machine Operator to operate CNC laser cutting machines primarily for sheet metal fabrication. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with laser cutting technology, basic computer skills including familiarity with 2D CAD software, and knowledge of various metal types such as stainless steel (SS), mild steel (MS), and aluminum (AL).
The operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining laser cutting machines to produce high-quality precision parts. Attention to detail, safety awareness, and ability to interpret technical drawings are essential to succeed in this role.
Key Responsibilities
1. Machine Operation & Setup

Set up CNC laser cutting machines according to job specifications and technical drawings.

Load sheet metal materials such as SS, MS, and aluminum onto the machine safely and efficiently.

Adjust machine settings (speed, power, focus) to optimize cutting quality and minimize waste.

Use 2D CAD files or other digital designs as a reference for programming or direct operation.

Monitor cutting processes to ensure precision, accuracy, and quality standards.
2. Quality Control

Inspect cut components for dimensions, edges, and surface finish to ensure compliance with specifications.

Identify defects or inconsistencies and make necessary machine adjustments or report issues.

Maintain records of production data including job details, material usage, and machine parameters.
3. Maintenance & Safety

Perform routine machine maintenance such as cleaning lenses, removing debris, and lubricating moving parts.

Follow all safety protocols related to laser operation, handling of metals, and workplace safety.

Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately to supervisors.

Ensure proper storage and handling of materials to prevent damage or contamination.
4. Collaboration & Reporting

Work closely with production planners, engineers, and quality control teams to meet production deadlines.

Provide feedback on material suitability and process improvements.

Document and report daily production outputs and any issues encountered.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Proven experience operating CNC laser cutting machines or similar sheet metal cutting equipment.

Basic computer skills, including familiarity with 2D CAD software for reading or programming cutting paths.

Knowledge of properties and handling of metals such as stainless steel (SS), mild steel (MS), and aluminum (AL).

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
