Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Lathe Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining lathe machines used for shaping and cutting metal or other materials to precise dimensions. The Lathe Machine Operator will work with engineers, machinists, and other team members to ensure high-quality production, meeting company standards and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and operate various types of lathe machines to shape metal or other materials according to specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Select, install, and adjust tooling, feeds, and speeds for machining operations.
Monitor machine operations to ensure that parts are within tolerance and production standards are met.
Perform regular machine maintenance and troubleshoot any issues to ensure smooth operation.
Inspect finished parts using measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, etc.) to verify accuracy and quality.
Keep detailed records of production runs, including materials used, time spent, and any issues encountered.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety and quality guidelines at all times.
Work collaboratively with engineering and quality control teams to improve processes and ensure production goals are met.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Lathe Machine Operator or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in operating Lathe and/or manual lathes.
Solid understanding of machining principles, technical drawings, and measuring tools.
Ability to perform routine machine maintenance and minor repairs.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
Good problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machining issues.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification or apprenticeship in machining is a plus.
Minimum 2 years of experience operating lathes in a manufacturing setting.
