Pharmacist (with license)
Number of post: 1 person.
Salary: 15k to 16k (as per interview).
Duty hours: 10 AM to 8 PM

Job Role: Hospital Pharmacist (Licensed)
A “licensed hospital pharmacist” plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, effective, and economical use of medicines for patients admitted in the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
Dispensing Medications
Accurately fill prescriptions as per doctor's orders.
Ensure correct dosage, frequency, and route of administration.
Label medicines properly with all required instructions.
Patient Safety & Drug Monitoring
Check for drug interactions, contraindications, and allergies.
Monitor patient responses to medications and report adverse reactions.
Inventory Management
Maintain stock of medicines and medical supplies.
Ensure proper storage (temperature, humidity) as per drug guidelines.
Keep track of expiry dates and arrange timely disposal of expired drugs
Prescription Review
Verify prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness.
Communicate with physicians to clarify or correct any prescription issues.
Counseling & Education
Provide instructions to patients on how and when to take medicines.
Educate patients and nurses on drug use, side effects, and precautions.
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure adherence to hospital and national drug regulations.
Maintain pharmacy records (dispensing logs, narcotics register, etc.)
Handle Schedule H/X/Narcotic drugs according to legal standards.
Support During Emergency Care
Provide immediate medications in emergency and ICU settings.
Work closely with doctors and nurses during code blue or critical events.
Collaboration with Healthcare Team
Participate in ward rounds with doctors and other healthcare professionals.
Provide input on drug selection, availability, and substitutions if needed.
Workplace Settings
In-patient pharmacy (for admitted patients)
Out-patient department (OPD)
Emergency/ICU pharmacy
Operating theater (for surgical drug kits and anesthesia support)
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of pharmacology and drug interactions.
Attention to detail and precision in dispensing.
Communication skills for coordination with doctors and counseling patients.
Computer skills for using Hospital Information Systems (HIS).
Qualifications
B.Pharm or D.Pharm (Diploma in Pharmacy)
Valid State Pharmacy Council License (Mandatory)
