Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Installation and Commissioning:

Install new elevator systems, including assembling mechanical and electrical components.

Read and interpret installation diagrams, blueprints, wiring layouts, and schematics.

Coordinate with engineers, electricians, and construction teams during new installations.

Perform commissioning tests to ensure lifts are functioning correctly before handover.
2. Maintenance and Servicing:
-
Conduct routine maintenance checks on lifts, escalators, and related systems.
-
Lubricate, adjust, and clean mechanical parts such as pulleys, cables, motors, and door systems.

Perform software diagnostics and firmware updates on modern elevator control systems.
-
Replace worn-out parts, belts, and wiring as per manufacturer recommendations.
3. Troubleshooting and Repairs:

Respond to breakdowns, system failures, or complaints quickly and professionally.

Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control system issues and apply corrective solutions.

Reset elevator systems after faults and ensure smooth operation after service.

Maintain emergency call-out availability when required.
4. Safety and Compliance:
-
Follow safety standards and practices as per local regulations (e.g., IS, EN, or ASME standards).

Ensure lifts comply with building codes, safety protocols, and periodic inspection schedules.

Perform emergency release operations in case of lift entrapment.

Maintain compliance with lock-out/tag-out procedures and PPE usage.
5. Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate service records, repair logs, inspection checklists, and customer reports.

Submit reports to supervisors detailing parts used, problems solved, and next service dates.

Help develop preventive maintenance plans based on system wear and past performance.
6. Customer Support:

Interact with building managers, clients, and occupants to explain issues or provide instructions.

Educate users on safe elevator usage and report recurring misuse or vandalism.

Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor during all customer interactions.
