Lighting Technician
Job Description
- Applicant must have basic electrical knowledge.
- Must support with cabling & equipment maintenance.
- Must assist with equipment loading/unloading.
- Should have good communication skills.
Freshers are welcome.
Key Responsibilities:

Setup and Installation:
-
Interpret lighting plots and designs provided by the Lighting Designer.
-
Install lighting instruments, rigs, and control equipment on location or in studios/theaters.

Hang, focus, and aim lighting fixtures to achieve specified lighting angles and effects.
-
Run electrical cables and ensure all equipment is correctly wired and connected.

Assemble and position rigging and support structures for lights and other equipment.

Operation and Control:
-
Operate lighting control consoles and software during rehearsals and live performances.
-
Adjust lighting levels, colors, and cues as per the director’s and lighting designer’s instructions.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during live events to avoid interruptions.

Program and synchronize lighting effects with sound, video, or other multimedia elements when required.

Maintenance and Safety:
-
Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on all lighting equipment.

Replace bulbs, lamps, gels, and other consumables as needed.

Ensure all equipment complies with safety regulations and electrical standards.

Maintain an organized inventory of lighting gear and manage transportation logistics for touring productions.

Collaboration and Communication:

Collaborate with the production team during the planning and design phases.
-
Assist in creating lighting cues and rehearsing with performers and other technicians.

Communicate effectively to coordinate timing and changes during shows or shoots.

Provide training or supervision to junior lighting crew members or volunteers.

Innovation and Adaptability:

Stay updated with the latest lighting technologies and techniques.
-
Experiment with new equipment or creative solutions to achieve unique lighting effects.

Adapt quickly to changes in production schedules, scripts, or creative direction.
