Lower Division Assistant   job vacancies in Calcutta High Court on purely temporary basis

Number of Vacancies :  200

Qualification :  1. Must have passed in the Higher Secondary Examination (12th standard) from the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Examination or its Equivalent examination from a recognized Council/ Board. 2. Must have knowledge in the vernacular of the State.

Scale of Pay :  Pay Band- 02 of Rs. (5,400/- 25,200/-) with minimum pay of Rs. 6,570/- with Grade Pay of Rs. 2,600/- along with other allowances as admissible under the relevant rules.

Age Limit :  a. Age not less than 18 years and not more than 40 years as on 1st January, 2018 (Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years in case of S.C. and S.T. candidates of West Bengal only). In case of Persons with disabilities, the upper age limit is relaxable up to 45 years.

Application Fee :  Application fee is Rs 250/- for SD/ST and Rs 500/- for others through online mode.

Selection Process :  Selection process will consist of two stage of written test and Viva-Voce Test. Candidates are required to appear in preliminary screening test (OMR based) stage 1 test. There shall be total hundred 100 questions with 90 minutes and each question shall carry one 1 mark. There shall be negative marking of one mark for each wrong answer. The question papers shall be available in English language only. Marks obtained by the candidates in Preliminary Screening Test shall not be carried forward in the further stages. Candidates selected and shortlisted in the Preliminary Screening Test (OMR based) will be called for stage II Competitive Written Test in Arithmetic, English essay and précis writing and General Knowledge with each subject carry hundred 100 marks and aggregating to 300 marks and the duration of Competitive Written Test shall be of 3 hours in single seating.

Candidates securing 40% of the marks in each of the 3 subjects and 50% in the aggregate, shall be considered for Viva-Voce Test. Final merit list shall be made on the basis of Competitive Written Test and viva-voce.
