Job Description
Position Summary:
We are seeking an innovative and detail-oriented Machine Design Engineer to join our engineering team. As a Machine Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery used in manufacturing, production, or industrial processes. Your work will involve the full cycle of machine design — from concept development, CAD modeling, and analysis to prototyping, testing, and support during manufacturing and commissioning.
This role demands strong analytical thinking, creativity, mechanical aptitude, and an understanding of engineering principles. The ideal candidate should be proficient in using CAD software, have a solid background in materials and manufacturing processes, and be able to transform technical requirements into practical and cost-effective machine designs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Machine Design and Development:

Design custom machines, mechanical systems, tools, and equipment tailored to specific industrial requirements.

Develop 2D and 3D models using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or CATIA.

Create detailed drawings, part lists, and technical documentation for manufacturing and assembly.

Select appropriate materials, drive systems, actuators, and mechanical components for machine performance and reliability.

Ensure that designs comply with mechanical engineering principles, safety standards, and customer specifications.
2. Engineering Analysis and Validation:

Perform engineering calculations, load analysis, stress and strain evaluations, and tolerance studies to ensure machine integrity.

Use FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and other simulation tools to test and optimize machine parts for strength, fatigue, and thermal performance.

Revise designs based on analysis results, feedback from prototyping, or testing outcomes.

Evaluate machine behavior under real-world conditions and recommend design improvements.
3. Prototyping and Testing:

Coordinate with fabrication and assembly teams to develop machine prototypes.

Supervise prototype assembly and conduct functional testing to evaluate performance.

Identify design flaws or potential operational risks during the testing phase and implement corrective actions.

Prepare test plans, reports, and performance documentation for internal use and client communication.
4. Collaboration and Project Coordination:

Work closely with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, automation engineers, production teams, and procurement.

Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to source components or customize third-party parts.

Provide design guidance to manufacturing and support teams during machine fabrication, assembly, and commissioning.

Attend design reviews, client meetings, and technical discussions to clarify requirements or present design updates.
5. Continuous Improvement and Innovation:

Stay updated with advancements in machine design, manufacturing technologies, and materials.

Recommend innovations in design or process to improve efficiency, reduce cost, or enhance performance.

Analyze field data and customer feedback to drive design improvements for future versions.

Maintain and update the design knowledge base, drawing library, and standard templates.
