Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated, hardworking, and safety-conscious Machine Operator to join our production team and operate Roto Molding Machines efficiently. The Machine Operator will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and continuous production of high-quality plastic molded products, assisting in secondary operations like packing and dispatch, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety on the shop floor.
This position is ideal for individuals with experience in plastic manufacturing, especially in rotational molding processes, who are comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment. The Machine Operator will follow standard operating procedures, perform basic troubleshooting, and support daily production targets while ensuring the best practices in quality and workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities
1. Machine Operation

Operate Rotational Molding Machines (Roto Molding) as per standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Load and unload molds with raw materials (e.g., polyethylene powder) and finished products.

Monitor machine parameters such as temperature, cycle time, rotation speed, and mold pressure to ensure consistent output.

Perform mold changes as per production planning with minimal downtime.

Maintain continuous operation of the machine and ensure high productivity levels.
2. Production Support

Support in packing, labeling, and weighing of finished products.

Assist in material handling, loading/unloading goods, and arranging products for dispatch.

Record production data, including output quantity, cycle time, downtime, and scrap rates.

Ensure proper tagging and batch identification for traceability.

Communicate with supervisors or quality control teams in case of deviations or defects.
3. Maintenance and Troubleshooting

Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of machines and tools as scheduled.

Identify and report abnormalities in machine functioning or product quality.

Execute minor troubleshooting such as clearing jams, adjusting mold alignment, and checking fittings or leaks.

Notify the maintenance department promptly in case of mechanical issues or breakdowns.
4. Quality Control

Inspect products visually and with basic measuring tools (e.g., vernier calipers, tape measures) to ensure they meet quality specifications.

Remove defective or non-conforming products from the production line and inform supervisors.

Ensure molds are clean, properly fitted, and free from defects or contamination before use.

Follow all instructions related to quality standards, including correct wall thickness, surface finish, and dimensional accuracy.
5. Workplace Safety and Cleanliness

Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

Keep the machine area clean and organized, removing excess material or debris regularly.

Follow 5S practices on the shop floor for cleanliness, organization, and workplace efficiency.

Ensure all tools and materials are stored properly after use.

Participate in safety drills, toolbox talks, and mandatory safety training sessions.
6. Discipline and Teamwork

Report to duty on time and adhere to assigned shift schedules.

Cooperate with fellow operators, supervisors, and team leaders to meet production goals.

Maintain professional behavior and discipline on the shop floor.

Follow instructions and updates from production supervisors promptly and accurately.
