Job Description
Location : Oragadam

Key Responsibilities:
1. Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
-
Perform regular inspection, maintenance, and servicing of production machines, utilities, HVAC systems, and facility infrastructure.

Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment failures—mechanical, electrical, or electronic—to minimize unplanned downtime.
-
Repair or replace defective components, including motors, pumps, conveyors, belts, sensors, and control systems.
-
Collaborate with OEMs and vendors when necessary for complex repairs or replacements.
2. Preventive and Predictive Maintenance:
-
Develop and implement preventive maintenance (PM) schedules for all critical assets.
-
Monitor equipment performance and conduct predictive maintenance based on vibration analysis, thermography, and other techniques.

Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs in logs or a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
3. Maintenance Planning and Documentation:
-
Plan and schedule maintenance activities to align with production schedules and minimize disruption.

Prepare maintenance reports, failure analysis reports, and equipment history logs.
-
Maintain accurate technical documentation, such as manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and safety records.
4. Safety and Compliance:
-
Ensure all maintenance tasks are carried out in accordance with company safety standards and relevant regulations.

Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses before performing maintenance activities.

Adhere to local, national, and industry codes regarding electrical, mechanical, and environmental safety.
5. Cost Control and Inventory Management:
-
Monitor and manage maintenance costs, optimize resource use, and minimize wastage.

Maintain stock of critical spare parts and ensure timely procurement of consumables and equipment components.

Liaise with procurement and inventory teams to track inventory levels and issue requisitions.
6. Continuous Improvement:
-
Recommend and implement improvements to enhance equipment performance and reliability.

Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues and suggest design modifications or upgrades.

Support energy-saving initiatives and sustainability programs by optimizing equipment operation.
7. Team Coordination and Training:
-
Supervise and guide junior technicians and maintenance assistants.
-
Conduct on-the-job training for team members on equipment operation and maintenance best practices.

Coordinate with other departments (production, quality, safety) to ensure smooth operations.
