Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Lead major and minor maintenance. Ensure checklists are maintained as per defined frequency and data analyses to develop PM schedules
2. Ensure adherence to preventive maintenance schedule as per the daily /weekly/ monthly schedule.
3. Build maintenance plan and schedule for equipment & accessories including civil, mechanical electrical, plumbing work, furniture & fixtures,
4. Ensure Yearly calibration of all required instruments e.g. pressure gauges, weighing scales with necessary documentation
5. Confirm in-house availability of tools and spare parts required to keep kitchen running. Store tools, change parts and spare parts in defined locations for easy traceability and retrieval. Co-ordinate with others in planning, warehouse, receiving and vendor representatives on timing of effective changeovers.
6. Troubleshoots, performs major and minor repairs and preventive maintenance as required to ensure equipment reliability and on-going production operation.
7. Undertakes daily reporting and updates in information systems including documentation of maintenance activities performed on equipment.
8. Highlights potential maintenance issues and takes corrective action including parts requisitioning and maintenance planning.
9. Keep updated with teams’ production performance via visual, written and verbal communications.
10. Participates in regular review of team production performance and uses information to drive continuous improvement. Provides status of maintenance activity for line/area; recommends machine modifications.
11. Participates in structured team activities related to line/area performance improvement, e.g. maintenance, housekeeping, problem solving, etc.
12. Seeks and understands production scheduling and demands. Prioritizes maintenance activities that support and facilitate these schedules and demands.
13. Understand and adhere to safety requirements and 5S, good housekeeping practices.
14. Understand and adhere to all Quality, Food Hygiene & sanitation standards,
15. Understand the needs & urgency of both internal and external customers. Internal customers include Quality, Planning, Maintenance and Finance.
16. Understand the interrelationships of factory processes of planning, sourcing, making and delivering with respect to overall performance.
17. Maintain work area to required housekeeping standards and participates in area housekeeping assessments per requirement.
18. Effective vendor management;
i. Generate quotations, purchase order
ii. Negotiate price- commercial terms & agreements with vendors
iii. Ensuring on-time and quality material from vendors.
Share knowledge and develops maintenance skills in operators. Identifies new opportunities for transferring skills to operators. Actively participate in continuous learning opportunities.
Qualifications: Graduate / Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
Certificates: NCVT Certificate (National Council for Vocational Training)
PWD License (Public Work Department Electricians)
Experience: Excluding internship/apprenticeship should have at least 2 years of maintenance experience in a reputed establishment. Experience in food/pharmaceutical manufacturing will be added advantage
