Job Description
Position Overview:
The Manager – Human Resource is responsible for managing the full spectrum of HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee onboarding, payroll coordination, HR records management, compliance with labor laws, and driving employee engagement initiatives. This position plays a vital role in ensuring that HR operations run smoothly while aligning human resources strategies with business objectives.
The HR Manager will act as a bridge between management and employees, fostering a positive work culture, ensuring policy adherence, and maintaining accurate HR documentation. The role demands strong organizational skills, an in-depth understanding of HR best practices, and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

Develop and execute recruitment plans to meet staffing requirements across departments.

Source candidates through job portals, social media, recruitment agencies, employee referrals, and campus hiring.

Screen resumes, conduct interviews, and coordinate with hiring managers for final selection.

Ensure timely closure of vacancies while maintaining quality of hire.
2. Employee Onboarding & Induction

Coordinate pre-joining formalities and prepare offer letters and employment contracts.

Conduct employee orientation sessions to familiarize new hires with company policies, culture, and values.

Facilitate smooth onboarding by ensuring necessary resources (ID cards, system access, workstation setup) are ready.

Assign mentors/buddies to help new employees integrate into the workplace.
3. Payroll Coordination

Collect and verify attendance, leave records, overtime details, and other payroll inputs from relevant departments.

Coordinate with the finance or payroll team to ensure accurate and timely salary disbursement.

Manage employee queries related to salary, deductions, reimbursements, and tax matters.

Ensure statutory deductions (PF, ESI, TDS, etc.) are calculated and deposited in compliance with labor laws.
4. HR Records Management

Maintain updated employee records including personal details, employment history, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.

Create and manage digital and physical personnel files, ensuring confidentiality and data protection.

Generate HR reports such as headcount, attrition rate, and leave balances for management review.
5. Employee Engagement & Welfare

Plan and implement employee engagement activities such as team-building events, festivals, recognition programs, and wellness initiatives.

Conduct regular feedback sessions and employee satisfaction surveys.

Foster a workplace culture that encourages collaboration, inclusion, and high morale.

Address and resolve employee grievances promptly and fairly.
6. Compliance & Policy Implementation

Ensure adherence to company policies, labor laws, and statutory regulations.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment laws, wage acts, and other relevant legislation.

Support management in updating and communicating HR policies and procedures.

Handle compliance inspections and audits by government authorities when required.
7. Performance Management Support

Coordinate performance appraisal processes and ensure timely completion.

Provide training and guidance to managers on performance review best practices.

Maintain appraisal records and assist in linking performance outcomes to rewards or development plans.
8. Learning & Development Support

Identify training needs in coordination with department heads.

Arrange skill development, compliance, and soft skills training programs.

Maintain training records and evaluate effectiveness of training initiatives.
