Principal Tasks &Responsibilities
Major Purpose of The Job:
• Income Tax Return Preparation
• Income Tax Assessment and Litigation
• Transfer Pricing Compliance and Assessments
Principal Tasks and Responsibilities:
Income-tax Return Preparation & Compliance
• Coordinating with various internal departments to gather financial data and statutory information required for preparation of income-tax returns.
• Verifying and validating financial data, and preparing income-tax returns based on information received.
• Addressing income-tax return–related queries by liaising with concerned internal stakeholders.
• Preparing and filing income-tax returns using applicable utilities and uploading the same on the Income-tax Department portal.
• Coordinating with Deloitte and statutory auditors for consultation and resolution of technical matters, as required.
• Providing necessary support to statutory auditors in respect of tax positions adopted while preparing income-tax returns.
• Computing advance tax, current tax, and deferred tax liabilities of Cadila Pharmaceuticals Ltd and its group companies based on inputs received from respective departments.
• Monitoring and ensuring timely payment of advance tax and current tax within
prescribed due dates.
• Computing and tracking contingent tax liabilities as at year-end to determine approximate outstanding demands and refunds for Cadila Pharmaceuticals Ltd and group entities.
Income-tax Assessments & Litigation Support
• Preparing and filing responses to income-tax notices, queries, and scrutiny assessment proceedings.
• Collating and compiling supporting documents and information for submission to tax authorities.
• Drafting statements of facts and grounds of appeal for appellate proceedings.
• Representing and attending hearings before income-tax authorities in connection with assessments and appeals.
• Briefing legal counsels and attending proceedings before ITAT and High Courts along with external consultants.
• Maintaining and periodically updating a litigation tracker for Cadila Pharmaceuticals Ltd and group companies.
• Verifying outstanding income-tax demand positions on the income-tax portal and reconciling the same with books of accounts.
Transfer Pricing Compliance & Assessments
• Coordinating with internal departments to gather financial data and documentation required for transfer pricing compliances.
• Assisting Deloitte in preparation and finalization of the Transfer Pricing Audit Report.
• Providing support in preparation/review of Transfer Pricing Master File.
• Drafting and filing responses to transfer pricing assessment proceedings before the Transfer Pricing Officer (TPO).
In the absence of the job holder the designee assigned by the reporting manager would be responsible for carrying out the above responsibilities.
