Experience 12+ years in Software Quality Assurance, with significant experience in API testing and test automation. Job Overview We are looking for an experienced QA Manager to lead quality engineering activities with a strong focus on API testing, automation, and end-to-end quality assurance. The role will be responsible for defining QA strategy, leading QA teams, improving automation coverage, and ensuring high-quality releases across API-driven applications and integrations. Key Responsibilities Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers and automation testers. Define and implement the overall QA strategy, processes, standards, and best practices. Own the API testing strategy covering functional, integration, regression, performance, security, and contract testing. Review requirements, architecture, API specifications, and acceptance criteria to identify quality risks early. Develop and maintain automated API test frameworks and CI/CD-integrated test suites. Ensure comprehensive test coverage for REST/SOAP APIs, microservices, and third-party integrations. Establish quality metrics and dashboards, including defect trends, automation coverage, test execution, and release quality. Work closely with Product, Engineering, DevOps, and Business teams to drive quality throughout the SDLC. Manage test planning, estimation, resource allocation, execution, and release sign-off. Drive root-cause analysis and continuous improvement of testing processes. Establish standards for defect management, test documentation, traceability, and reporting. Identify opportunities to improve test automation, tooling, and overall QA efficiency. Participate in production issue reviews and ensure preventive actions are incorporated into QA processes. Manage vendor/partner testing activities where applicable. Technical Skills Strong experience in API testing and automation. Hands-on knowledge of REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, HTTP/HTTPS, OAuth 2.0, JWT, and API authentication mechanisms. Experience with tools such as Postman, REST Assured, SoapUI, or equivalent. Strong programming/scripting experience in Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar. Experience with Selenium/Playwright/Cypress or other UI automation tools is desirable. Strong understanding of SQL and database testing. Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or similar CI/CD platforms. Experience testing microservices and distributed systems. Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and containerized environments is desirable. Knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter or Gatling is an advantage. Understanding of API contract testing and tools such as Pact is a plus. Leadership & Management Skills Proven experience managing and mentoring QA teams. Strong stakeholder and cross-functional communication skills. Ability to establish QA roadmaps and align them with business objectives. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Experience managing multiple projects and priorities. Ability to communicate technical risks and quality status effectively to senior leadership. Education Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Preferred Certifications ISTQB or equivalent QA certification. Agile/Scrum certification is an advantage. Cloud or DevOps certifications are a plus. Success Measures Improved API automation coverage and reliability.
