Job Description
Core Responsibilities
Cargo Operations: Coordinate the loading and unloading of containerized, bulk, or breakbulk freight using specialized equipment like cranes, pumps, and loading arms.
Vessel Coordination: Manage vessel berthing, mooring, unmooring, and communication with ship captains, pilots, and tug masters.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure adherence to environmental regulations, OSHA standards, and security protocols (such as MARSEC levels).
Facility Maintenance: Inspect and maintain terminal infrastructure including docks, berths, hoses, and manifolds.
Logistics & Record Keeping: Track inventory, log tank gauges or container movements, and liaise with customs and shipping agents.
Key Requirements & Skills
Experience: High school diploma with hands-on dock or logistics experience for operations roles; a bachelor's degree in engineering, maritime logistics, or supply chain for managerial/engineering positions
Certifications: Safety training (like OSHA), heavy equipment operation licenses, or specialized hazardous material handling certificates.
Soft Skills: Strong communication for radio coordination, problem-solving under tight shipping schedules, and physical stamina
