Job Description

Key Responsibilities of Mechanic:

Diagnosing Vehicle Problems: Using diagnostic tools and techniques to identify issues with the vehicle's engine, transmission, exhaust, brakes, suspension, and other critical systems.

Performing Repairs: Repairing or replacing faulty parts, including engines, transmissions, brakes, or electrical systems. This could involve removing and installing components, adjusting systems, or welding parts.

Preventive Maintenance: Conducting routine checks and maintenance tasks like oil changes, brake checks, tire rotations, and battery checks to prevent future issues.

Customer Consultation: Communicating with customers about their vehicle problems, explaining necessary repairs or maintenance, and providing estimates for costs and timeframes.

Using Tools and Equipment: Operating a range of mechanical tools and machinery such as wrenches, lifts, diagnostic machines, and power tools to perform repairs and maintenance tasks.

Vehicle Testing: After repairs, test-driving vehicles to ensure they are working properly and confirming that the issue has been resolved.

Maintaining Work Records: Keeping detailed records of services performed on each vehicle, including repairs, parts replaced, and service history.

Ordering Parts: Sourcing and ordering parts needed for repairs from suppliers or manufacturers, ensuring correct parts are used for the job.

Staying Updated with Industry Trends: Keeping up to date with new automotive technology, repair techniques, and safety regulations to perform efficient repairs.

Safety Compliance: Ensuring that repairs and work are done in compliance with safety standards, using protective gear, and keeping the work environment clean and organized.

Skills Required:
