Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Routine Maintenance and Servicing:
-
Perform scheduled maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid checks, tire rotations, and filter replacements.

Inspect brakes, clutches, engines, air conditioning, suspension systems, and electrical wiring.
-
Conduct diagnostic tests using tools such as OBD scanners or computerized testing equipment.
-
Lubricate parts, tighten bolts, and replace worn components during preventive checks.
2. Fault Diagnosis and Troubleshooting:
-
Identify mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues in vehicles or machinery through testing and visual inspection.
-
Use diagnostic software or manual techniques to determine faults accurately.
-
Analyze abnormal sounds, vibrations, leaks, and performance issues to assess root causes.
-
Prepare and explain diagnosis reports to supervisors or service advisors.
3. Repairs and Component Replacement:
-
Repair or replace faulty parts such as gearboxes, engines, clutches, axles, spark plugs, belts, or radiators.
-
Carry out complex tasks such as engine overhauls, transmission rebuilding, or welding for structural damage.
-
Perform battery charging, starter motor replacements, and alternator servicing.
-
Test systems post-repair to ensure restored performance and safety compliance.
4. Workshop and Tool Management:
-
Maintain tools, equipment, and diagnostic instruments in clean and working condition.
-
Keep the workshop organized, safe, and compliant with industry best practices.
-
Ensure proper disposal of old parts, fluids, and hazardous waste according to environmental regulations.
-
Order spare parts and materials when needed and maintain accurate inventory records.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
-
Record service and repair details, including parts used, hours worked, and observations made.

Complete maintenance logs, job cards, inspection checklists, and service reports.
-
Update customer service records, warranty claims, and quality control forms accurately.
-
Report complex issues or delays to supervisors promptly.
6. Safety and Compliance:
-
Adhere to health and safety standards while operating equipment or handling hazardous materials.

Use PPE (gloves, goggles, safety boots) as required during mechanical tasks.
-
Follow lockout/tagout procedures when working on electrical or fuel systems.
-
Ensure all maintenance complies with company SOPs and regulatory standards (e.g., RTO, ISO, OSHA).
