Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Mechanical Design & Drafting:
-
Create detailed mechanical drawings using AutoCAD, ensuring precision and adherence to design specifications.

Develop 2D and 3D mechanical models and layouts of components, assemblies, and systems.
-
Design mechanical systems such as HVAC, piping, conveyors, and mechanical components for manufacturing or construction projects.

Modify and update existing drawings based on feedback and changes from design engineers or project managers.
-
Ensure that all drawings meet industry standards and client specifications.
2. Collaboration with Engineering Teams:
-
Work closely with mechanical engineers to develop and refine designs.
-
Assist in the conceptualization and development of mechanical systems, proposing design solutions and improvements.

Communicate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure that designs are aligned with project goals, deadlines, and budgets.
3. Quality Control & Standards Compliance:
-
Ensure that all designs comply with relevant engineering codes, standards, and best practices.

Perform design reviews and check drawings for consistency, quality, and accuracy before submission to stakeholders.
-
Troubleshoot and resolve any design or drafting issues that arise during the design or fabrication process.
4. Drafting Support for Prototypes & Production:

Provide drafting support for the creation of prototypes and production models.

Work with manufacturing teams to translate designs into production drawings.

Ensure that drawings are prepared for fabrication and assembly by coordinating with the shop floor or production teams.
5. Documentation & Reporting:
-
Maintain accurate records of all design documents, drawings, and revisions in design databases.

Prepare and submit design documentation and reports for review, ensuring all documentation is complete and up-to-date.

Organize and store design files in compliance with company policies and standards for document management.
6. Research and Development:

Stay updated on latest AutoCAD features and industry trends to continuously improve drafting skills and software knowledge.

Participate in research and development activities for new products and systems, offering technical insights into design improvements.
7. Project Management Assistance:

Assist project managers by providing detailed drawings that facilitate project planning, procurement, and construction schedules.

Contribute to the estimation of costs and timelines by providing accurate design specifications and material requirements.
