Job Description
Job Summary:
We are looking for a qualified and passionate Mechanical CAD Trainer to join our training and development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering technical training to Diploma and Engineering students in core mechanical concepts, CAD design tools, and advanced manufacturing applications. The trainer should be proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, Creo, SolidWorks, CATIA, NX CAD, and ideally experienced with CNC Programming, Mastercam, and NXCAM.
This role involves not only teaching software skills but also instilling a strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals and industrial best practices. The goal is to equip learners with job-ready skills that align with the needs of modern design and manufacturing industries.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Training Delivery

Conduct theoretical and practical sessions on Mechanical Design concepts and CAD/CAM software tools.

Deliver in-depth training in software tools such as:

AutoCAD – 2D drafting and basic 3D modeling
-
Creo (Pro/ENGINEER) – Parametric modeling and assembly design
-
SolidWorks – Part modeling, assemblies, simulations
-
CATIA – Surface modeling and advanced design
-
NX CAD – Advanced modeling and drafting tools

(Optional but preferred) Provide training on:

CNC Programming
-
Mastercam – Toolpath generation and machining simulations
-
NXCAM – Siemens-based CAM tool integration with NX CAD

2. Curriculum Development
-
Create, revise, and update course content, training materials, and assignments as per industry standards.

Prepare learning objectives, practice exercises, projects, and evaluation tools.
-
Customize training modules for beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels.
3. Hands-on Practice & Lab Management
-
Facilitate lab sessions for practical exposure to design and manufacturing tools.

Guide students through real-time projects and mini-industrial simulations.
-
Ensure all training systems, software licenses, and machines (CNC simulators, where applicable) are in working order.
4. Assessment & Certification
-
Conduct regular assessments to monitor trainee progress and understanding.

Evaluate student projects, provide feedback, and assign final grades.

Support students in preparing for certification exams (if applicable).
5. Student Support & Mentoring
-
Resolve student queries related to technical content or software usage.
-
Mentor students on career opportunities in mechanical design, product development, and manufacturing industries.

Guide students in preparing for interviews, tests, and industry certifications.
6. Industry Collaboration (Optional)
-
Keep abreast of latest industry trends in CAD/CAM/CAE and manufacturing technologies.

Collaborate with industry experts to improve course content and employability alignment.

Represent the training institute at seminars, webinars, and job fairs.
