Job Description
Experience : 3-5 years – preferred exp. In Sheet Metal / Control panel Design
Software Skill : Solid works & Auto-cad
Qualification : Diploma / B.E. Mechanical Engineering
Expectations : Good understanding on design and drawing of Sheet Metal Cabinets or Control Panel enclosures in LV Panels like PCC, MCC, PDB’s, MLDB’s, LDB’s, APFC Panels, small control boxes etc. Preparation of Bill of Material, 2D parts nesting drawing for Turret or Laser cutting machine, Preparation of Bending drawings for Press brake etc.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Design & Development
-
Design mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, Creo, etc.).

Create 3D models, detailed drawings, and specifications for manufacturing.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new products or improve existing ones.
-
Ensure designs meet functional, safety, and industry standards.
2. Engineering Analysis & Testing
-
Conduct stress, thermal, and structural analysis using FEA (ANSYS, Abaqus, COMSOL, etc.).

Perform tolerance analysis and material selection for optimal performance.

Work on prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical systems.
-
Identify design flaws and suggest modifications based on test results.
3. Manufacturing & Process Optimization
-
Work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure design feasibility and cost-effective production.

Optimize designs for manufacturability and assembly (DFM/DFA).
-
Provide support for CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, and other manufacturing techniques.

Troubleshoot mechanical issues in production and recommend corrective actions.
4. Documentation & Compliance
-
Create and maintain technical documentation, including BOMs (Bill of Materials), design reports, and test results.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for design and testing processes.
5. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
-
Work with electrical, software, and project teams to ensure seamless product integration.

Stay updated on the latest trends in mechanical engineering, materials, and manufacturing technologies.

Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement in design methodologies.
