Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Support:
-
Assist in overseeing daily activities of structural steel fabrication including cutting, welding, grinding, and assembly.
-
Learn and understand fabrication drawings, welding symbols, and bill of materials (BOM).
-
Ensure adherence to process flow and standard operating procedures on the shop floor.
-
Monitor machine operations like shearing, bending, and drilling under supervision.
2. Quality Control & Inspection:
-
Participate in quality inspection of raw materials, in-process jobs, and final fabricated structures.
-
Assist in measuring dimensions, welding quality, surface finishing, and alignment checks.
-
Maintain records of inspections and assist in preparing quality assurance documentation.
-
Learn and apply basic NDT methods like visual inspection, dye penetrant testing, etc.
3. Project & Process Coordination:
-
Coordinate with design and planning teams to ensure accurate execution of fabrication drawings.
-
Follow up with store and purchase departments for raw materials and consumables.
-
Assist in tracking project timelines, material movement, and job progress.
-
Support supervisors in reporting daily production and resource utilization.
4. Safety & Compliance:
-
Adhere to safety protocols on the shop floor including PPE usage and machine handling.
-
Participate in safety drills and tool-box talks conducted by the safety officer.

Learn about ISO standards, welding codes (like AWS/DIN/IS), and quality norms applicable to fabrication.
5. Learning & Development:
-
Undergo training in different departments such as production, planning, quality control, and maintenance.

Learn about structural fabrication standards, plant machinery, and automation tools (if any).

Get exposure to real-time problem-solving, production planning, and site coordination.
