Job Overview
A Mechanical Service Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, inspections, and cleaning of vehicles to ensure they operate efficiently and safely. The role involves working under the guidance of senior technicians, learning hands-on automotive service techniques, and developing the technical skills required to handle vehicle servicing tasks independently.
This position is ideal for freshers or entry-level candidates who are passionate about automobiles and eager to build a career in the automotive industry. Since company-provided training is included, no prior experience is necessary. Candidates will gain practical exposure to vehicle maintenance, servicing, diagnostics, and repair processes.
Key Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Service Technician, you will be responsible for assisting senior technicians, performing vehicle servicing, and maintaining workshop tools. Major duties include:
1. Vehicle Service Support

Assist senior technicians during vehicle servicing and maintenance tasks.

Learn and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for car repairs and services.

Support in completing job cards, documenting services performed, and reporting issues.
2. Oil Changing Work

Drain old engine oil and replace it with fresh, company-recommended oil.

Check and replace oil filters to maintain engine performance.

Monitor oil quality and levels during servicing to avoid engine damage.
3. Brake Cleaning and Maintenance

Inspect, clean, and lubricate brake components under supervision.

Assist in replacing worn-out brake pads and discs when required.

Support in testing brake systems for smooth operation and safety.
4. Coolant Oil Changing

Check coolant levels and replace old coolant with fresh fluid.

Assist in flushing the cooling system to maintain engine temperature regulation.

Learn to inspect radiator hoses, water pumps, and other related components.
5. Car Service and General Maintenance

Perform routine vehicle servicing, including fluid checks, battery inspections, and air filter cleaning.

Learn to diagnose basic vehicle problems and report them to senior technicians.

Support wheel alignment, tire rotation, and balancing tasks when required.
6. Car Water Wash and Cleaning

Carry out external vehicle washing using appropriate tools and cleaning agents.

Ensure vehicles are washed without damaging the paint or bodywork.

Perform interior cleaning, including dashboard wiping, vacuuming, and seat cleaning.
7. Tools and Equipment Handling

Maintain, clean, and organize workshop tools and equipment.

Ensure proper handling and storage of diagnostic tools and service kits.

Report any damaged or missing tools to supervisors.
8. Workshop Housekeeping

Keep the service area clean, safe, and well-organized.

Dispose of waste oil, coolant, and cleaning materials in compliance with company policies.

Follow safety guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
