1. Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanical Technician to work on wind and solar power installation projects across India. The role involves executing mechanical activities at project sites, including erection, bolting solutions, commissioning, material handling, and reporting.
This is a field-based role that requires frequent travel to various project locations nationwide. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of mechanical systems, be comfortable working at heights and open project sites, and possess good problem-solving and teamwork skills.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Installation & Erection Activities

Perform mechanical erection of wind turbine components such as towers, nacelles, hubs, and blades.

Carry out the installation of solar mounting structures, panels, and mechanical supports.

Ensure proper alignment, leveling, and tightening of components during erection activities.

Follow engineering drawings, layouts, and specifications accurately during installation.
B. Bolting Solutions & Structural Assembly

Execute bolting activities as per torque and tension specifications.

Use hydraulic torque wrenches, tensioning tools, and other mechanical equipment safely.

Inspect bolted joints for quality assurance and ensure compliance with project standards.
C. Commissioning Support

Assist in the commissioning of wind and solar systems after installation.

Coordinate with electrical teams to ensure smooth integration of mechanical and electrical systems.

Conduct basic functional tests on installed components before handover.
D. Material Handling & Inventory Management

Handle heavy mechanical components, tools, and materials using cranes, forklifts, and lifting equipment.

Follow safe loading, unloading, and storage practices at the project site.

Maintain proper records of tools, consumables, and materials used on-site.
E. Reporting & Documentation

Maintain accurate daily work logs and submit reports to the Site Engineer / Project Manager.

Report installation progress, material consumption, and any issues faced on-site.

Document commissioning data and ensure proper record-keeping for future reference.
3. Required Skills and Competencies
A. Technical Skills

Good understanding of mechanical installation processes for wind and solar projects.

Familiarity with bolting, torqueing, and structural assembly techniques.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and manuals.

Hands-on experience with mechanical tools, hydraulic equipment, and lifting devices.
B. Safety & Compliance

Strong awareness of safety protocols and PPE requirements at project sites.

Ability to follow LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) and other site safety procedures.

Knowledge of working at heights and proper usage of harnesses and fall protection systems.
C. Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills

Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues during installation and commissioning.
