Mechanical Technician
Job Description
Key Responsibilities

Vehicle Assembly
-
Assemble vehicle parts and systems, including chassis, body panels, suspension components, fuel systems, and engine components, based on engineering drawings and specifications.

Install pre-fabricated mechanical and electrical units into vehicles following standard procedures.

Align and fit mechanical components with precision using hand tools, power tools, and measurement instruments.

Perform pre-delivery inspections and function checks on assembled vehicles to ensure operational readiness.

Electrical Component Handling

Assist in the installation of basic electrical components such as battery units, lighting systems, relays, switches, wiring harnesses, and sensors.

Read and interpret simple electrical diagrams and schematics to aid in assembly or troubleshooting.

Identify and report electrical issues during assembly and perform basic testing using multimeters and diagnostic tools.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Conduct mechanical troubleshooting during the assembly process to identify and resolve issues like misalignment, leaks, or faulty components.

Support the service and maintenance team in repairing mechanical faults or replacing defective parts.
-
Collaborate with the electrical team when multi-disciplinary faults occur during the vehicle testing phase.

Quality Control and Compliance

Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and environmental standards as per company and industry guidelines.

Conduct visual inspections, torque checks, and mechanical function tests.

Maintain accurate documentation of completed tasks, issues identified, and parts used.

Workshop and Equipment Maintenance

Keep tools, machinery, and the assembly area clean and organized.
-
Perform routine maintenance checks on hand and power tools to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Follow all safety protocols including use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), proper handling of equipment, and adherence to workshop safety rules.

Teamwork and Communication

Work collaboratively with other technicians, engineers, and supervisors to meet production goals.

Report any material shortages, design flaws, or recurring issues to supervisors for corrective action.

Attend training sessions or briefings related to new assembly procedures, vehicle models, or safety practices.
