Responsibilities
Research and analyze data to ascertain the need for financial reimbursements.
Analyze medical records and match treatments or identify anomalies or deficiencies.
Work within a team to become a resource for team members and a subject-matter expert for the coding team.
Review and verify documents relating to treatment and procedures.
Support procedures, diagnosis, and treatment results.
Account for coding abstracting and patient encounters, including procedural information, reportable elements, and complication or discrepancies.
Audit clinical documentation and coded data to ensure accuracy.
Assign codes for reimbursements and validate document support services.
Follow coding conventions and keep abreast of developing industry best practices.
