Employees’ State Insurance Medical Service (Basic Grade) Under The Labour
Department /No. Of Vacancies: 54 [15-SC,3-ST. 8 - OBC. Category ‘A’, 6 - OBC Category ‘B’ Candidates & 3 For
Persons With Disabilities (Hearing Impaired – 2 & Locomotor Disability Or
Cerebral Palsy – 1)]
Qualification:
Essential: (A) Any of the Medical qualifications included in the First and Second Schedule or Part – II of the
Third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and registration as Medical
Practitioner in West Bengal & (B) Recognised Post-Graduate qualification in a particular speciality or
equivalent qualification.
Post-Graduate qualifications : for (i) Radiology -MD/DMRD/DNB, (ii)
Anaesthesiology -MD/DA/DNB, (iii) Pathology -MD/DNB, (iv) Orthopaedics -MS/DNB, (v) Surgery -MS/DNB,
(vi) Medicine -MD/DNB, (vii) Biochemistry -MD/DNB & (viii) Paediatrics -MD/DNB.

Disabilities (Hearing Impaired – 6, Locomotor Disability Or Cerebral Palsy –
3)]
Qualifications: Any of the Medical qualifications included in the First and Second Schedule and Part – II of the
Third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and registration as Medical
Practitioner in West Bengal.
Desirable: Six months’ practical training as House Staff in Government hospital or other recognized
Institution.
Age: Not more than 36 years for ordinary Medical Graduates and 40 years for those possessing
Post-graduate Medical qualifications on 1.1.2018 relaxable for otherwise well-qualified and experienced
candidates
Pay Scale : Rs. 15600- 42000
Application Fee: Rs. 210/- (Rupees two hundred ten) only. In addition to that, the candidate will be charged as follows:
(i) For online payment through debit/credit cards: Convenience fee 1% of the examination fee subject to a minimum of Rs.
5/- (Rupees Five) only plus 18% G.S.T. on convenience fee.
(ii) For online payment through net banking: Convenience fee of Rs. 5/- (Rupees Five) only plus 18% G.S.T. on
convenience fee.
(iii) For offline payment through bank counter: Service Charge of Rs. 20/- (Rupees Twenty) only.
S.C./S.T. candidates of West Bengal and Persons with disabilities (P.W.D.) having physical disability of 40% and above are
not required to pay any fee.
Selection Procedure: Screening Test/ Written Test.
