Job Description
Job Summary
As a Medical Representative, your main responsibility will be to promote and sell pharmaceutical products to doctors, hospitals, clinics, and chemists. You will educate medical professionals on product features, benefits, and usage, aiming to increase prescriptions and boost product visibility in the assigned territory.
You’ll be expected to meet monthly sales targets, maintain detailed records, and keep up with product and industry knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Promotion & Sales

Visit doctors, hospitals, and pharmacies daily to promote the company’s range of pharmaceutical products.

Present and explain the product features, dosage, indications, contraindications, and benefits to healthcare professionals.

Generate prescriptions by building trust and demonstrating product value.
2. Territory Management

Cover an assigned geographical area systematically and ensure effective coverage of all healthcare professionals in the territory.

Identify potential new doctors or chemists to expand business reach.

Maintain a call schedule and submit visit reports regularly.
3. Relationship Building

Develop and maintain strong relationships with doctors, pharmacists, clinic managers, and stockists.

Handle post-sale support by providing samples, marketing materials, and attending follow-up visits.

Act as the face of the brand and respond professionally to any queries from healthcare professionals.
4. Achieving Sales Targets

Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets set by the management.

Monitor competitors’ activities and market trends to adjust sales strategy accordingly.

Assist in organizing medical camps, CMEs (Continuing Medical Education programs), and product awareness drives to boost visibility.
5. Product Knowledge & Training

Stay up to date with product details, industry developments, and competitor offerings.

Attend regular training sessions to keep abreast of medical and scientific advancements.

Clearly communicate technical information in a way that is understandable to non-scientific customers.
6. Reporting & Documentation
-
Maintain accurate records of visits, interactions, sales figures, and prescriptions generated.

Use CRM software or reporting sheets to log daily activity and submit timely reports to supervisors.

Track product movement and ensure timely supply through coordination with stockists/distributors.
