Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Medical Retail Executive to manage sales, customer service, and prescription handling at our medical retail outlet. The ideal candidate should have at least 2+ years of experience working in a pharmacy or medical retail shop, possess good knowledge of medicines, prescriptions, and stock management, and be capable of assisting customers efficiently. The role also involves local area medicine delivery when required.
Key Responsibilities
1. Customer Assistance & Sales

Greet customers and assist them in selecting medicines and healthcare products.

Understand and interpret doctor prescriptions accurately.

Provide correct information about dosage, side effects, and medicine availability.

Guide customers regarding generic alternatives if specific medicines are unavailable.
-
Upsell and cross-sell healthcare and wellness products when appropriate.
2. Prescription Handling
-
Verify prescriptions for completeness and authenticity.
-
Accurately read doctors’ handwriting and dispense correct medicines.

Maintain proper records of prescription-based medicine sales.

Ensure compliance with legal and safety regulations while dispensing medicines.
3. Billing & Payment Management
-
Generate bills using POS / billing software.
-
Handle cash, UPI, debit/credit card transactions securely.

Ensure accurate billing and provide receipts to customers.
-
Update daily sales reports and reconcile payments at the end of the day.
4. Stock & Inventory Management
-
Maintain optimum stock levels of medicines and related products.

Regularly check expiry dates and remove expired or damaged medicines.

Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for timely restocking.
-
Keep inventory updated in the billing or ERP system.

Ensure proper storage conditions for temperature-sensitive medicines.
5. Delivery & Field Coordination

Deliver medicines to local customers within nearby areas when required.

Coordinate with delivery personnel and ensure timely dispatch of medicines.

Maintain proper delivery records and obtain customer acknowledgments.
6. Compliance & Safety
-
Follow government pharmacy guidelines while handling medicines.

Ensure strict adherence to hygiene and safety protocols inside the store.

Maintain proper records for scheduled drugs as per legal requirements.

Handle customer data and prescription information confidentially.
7. Customer Relationship Management

Build trust and rapport with customers by providing personalized assistance.

Handle customer queries and complaints politely and effectively.

Offer health tips, medicine usage instructions, and product recommendations.

Maintain a positive and professional image of the store.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:

Diploma / B.Pharm / M.Pharm (preferred).

Graduates from any discipline with medical retail experience may also apply.
Experience:

Minimum 2+ years of working experience in a medical retail shop.

Prior exposure to pharmacy operations and customer handling is mandatory.
Additional Requirements:

Should be able to read prescriptions accurately.

Must have basic computer knowledge for billing and inventory.

Should be comfortable with local medicine deliveries when needed.
