Job Overview
An MEP Engineer - Quality Assurance is responsible for monitoring, inspecting, and verifying Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works on construction sites to ensure they meet approved drawings, standards, codes, and statutory regulations. This role involves maintaining quality standards, safety compliance, and project documentation, and coordinating with contractors, architects, and site teams to ensure that the construction works are executed with precision and adherence to specifications.
The position is ideal for candidates with strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and familiarity with engineering standards, offering significant exposure to large-scale construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Site Inspection & Quality Monitoring

Inspect MEP works on-site to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and SOPs.

Monitor installation of HVAC systems, electrical wiring, plumbing networks, fire-fighting systems, and other MEP components.

Ensure construction activities meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
-
Identify and report non-conformances (NCRs) and recommend corrective measures.
2. Compliance with Codes & Standards
-
Ensure adherence to local, state, and central engineering codes.

Verify compliance with MEP relevant codes, national standards, and statutory requirements.
-
Apply HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.

Coordinate with statutory authorities for approvals and inspections when required.
3. Documentation & Reporting
-
Maintain detailed records of site inspections, quality check reports, and progress reports.
-
Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly QA/QC reports to the project manager.

Document material approvals, test reports, and as-built drawings.
-
Track corrective actions and ensure timely resolution of issues.
4. Coordination & Communication
-
Collaborate with contractors, site engineers, architects, and project managers for quality control.

Attend site meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and quality improvement measures.
-
Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding non-conformance, delays, and safety concerns.
-
Assist in client inspections and third-party audits.
5. Material Verification & Testing
-
Inspect and verify materials, equipment, and components before installation.
-
Conduct on-site testing and commissioning of MEP systems as per standards.
-
Ensure that all materials meet project specifications and industry standards.
-
Maintain records of quality tests, calibration certificates, and supplier documentation.
6. Process Improvement
-
Review existing quality processes and suggest improvements.
-
Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, reduce rework, and maintain compliance.
-
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and site staff.
Required Skills
Technical Skills

Strong understanding of MEP systems design, installation, and maintenance.

Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire-fighting, and building automation systems.

Familiarity with engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD software.
