Department: Microbiology
Educational Background: Graduate / Post Graduate in Microbiology
Experience: Fresher
Required Skill / Knowledge
1. Knowledge of Microbial identification, classification, and characteristics of bacteria, fungi, and viruses and parasites.
2. Knowledge of pathogenic and non-pathogenic organisms.
3. Familiar with the instruments like Incubator, Autoclave, Laminar Air Flow, Colony Counter, Microscope, and pH Meter etc.
4. Knowledge of the process for Media Preparation.
5. Knowledge of the Growth Promotion Test (GPT) for Media.
6. Basic culturing techniques: streak plating, pour plate, spread plate methods etc.
7. Basic microscopy skills and staining methods (especially Gram stain).
8. Knowledge of techniques like autoclaving, incubation, incubation conditions, and colony morphology etc.
9. Understanding of laboratory-waste disposal procedures.
10. Understanding of growth media types: selective media, differential media, enriched media.
11. Knowledge of Aseptic techniques to prevent contamination.
12. Awareness of microbial structure and function (cell wall, flagella, spores, etc.)
13. Understanding of sterilization and disinfection methods
14. Knowledge of Sterility, MLT-BET and Environment Monitoring testing.
