Job Description
Job Description - Candidate applying for this position should have good exposure in handling installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting and monitoring of Microsoft Operating System with a focus on systems administration in multi-platform environments.
§ Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2016
§ Develop action plans to investigate and resolve complex issues and clearly communicate the action plan to customers.
§ Provide assistance to customers on Windows No Boot and Unexpected Shutdown Issues.
§ Provide root cause analysis of Unexpected Shutdown of the Operating System
§ Resolve the Windows Update issues and also assist in Installation of the Microsoft Security Updates and other Windows Updates.
§ Provide Technical assistance in resolving issues on Microsoft Failover Clustering Platform and resolve cluster service issues.
§ Resolving Virtualization issues in Microsoft Hyper-V Environment.
§ Resolving Windows Server Performance issues and should be well versed with Perfmon Log Analysis.
§ Should have a good understanding of the File Systems in Windows Environment and how to resolve various file system issues in customer environment.
§ Should have good knowledge on Windows Licensing and should be well versed with the KMS and MAK activation methods.
§ Provide leadership in technical problem management and resolution to issues by working closely with the end customers and HP remote and field support staff.
§ Identify and contribute to projects to improve product support, customer satisfaction and team efficiency.
§ Should be able to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders and should have the ability to drive the conversation and discussions in a professional manner.
§ Should be able to isolate the Microsoft issues and provide the action plan in accordance with the scope boundary.
§ Possess a strong customer focus with the ability to control elevations; balancing the needs of the customer, the HPE account team and the Microsoft division.
Technical Skills
Business Skills
§ Broad technical knowledge on Microsoft Operating System technologies.
§ Technical knowledge and experience on server management software tools
§ Good knowledge of Hyper-V and Failover Clustering is mandatory.
§ Should have a fair understanding of Microsoft Operating System Boot Process.
§ Should have good knowledge of Disk, file system, storage related issues including RAID, SAN, NAS and iSCSI
§ Troubleshooting blue screens, no boot & reboot issues.
§ Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
§ Demonstrate business judgment, decision making skills, negotiating skills, time-resource management, complex problem solving, in-depth product knowledge, creativity, teamwork, knowledge of quality processes, political astuteness and sensitivity in dealing with diverse cultures and ability to learn quickly.
§ Experience in interacting/Supporting Level 1 Support teams and customers
§ Must be a team player and show ability and willingness to motivate and support other engineers
§ Must have a ‘Service and Support’ mind-set

§ Adds Customer Expectation management as part of the Escalation process and be able to isolate obscure problems of unknown origin.
§ Manages the solution process with high management attention in a complex environment.
