ROLE OVERVIEW
This individual l will provide comprehensive technical guidance and MicroStrategy architecture expertise to the project
teams and will also need to have project estimation experience and be able to communicate effectively with both
technical resources and non-technical business users. We are seeking a motivated self-starter who must be able to work
well both independently and with a team.
QUALIFICATIONS
Role Requirements:
The range of responsibilities is broad and is likely to include:
● MicroStrategy expert; extensive experience with developing both the back end semantic layer and dashboards
o Client is in the process of upgrading to MSTR 2020. There are some limitations and complexities with
how the current Semantic Layer is built so they are also looking for a resource that can assist with
assessing/implementing improvements to the current Semantic Layer inclusive of identifying logic that
should be removed from the Semantic Layer and implemented in the data mart (e.g. logical tables,
derived metrics, etc.). As part of the redesign effort, they are looking to ensure that the resource does
so strategically (e.g. not dashboard specific, reusable, scalable, easy to maintain, documented, etc.).

● MicroStrategy schema definition, design, implementation and maintenance
● Performance tuning, testing, and troubleshooting of both new BI solutions
● Analysis and interpretation of business requirements and translation into functional and technical requirement
specifications
● Assistance with project planning, estimating, approach definition and implementation planning
● Support, design, build and test MicroStrategy objects, projects, reports, dashboards, cubes
● Evaluate current and emerging BI industry trends and best practices when designing BI solutions
● Work closely with DBAs on data model or database changes required to
● Support BI projects
● Builds/maintains semantic layer; oversees/mentors junior resource(s)
● Liaison with SysAdmins
● Collaborate with the data team to ensure business rules are understood & that the data mart data model is
being designed to optimally perform with MicroStrategy
