Job Summary:
A Middle-Level Associate in a Chartered Accountant firm is responsible for assisting in auditing, taxation, accounting, and advisory services for the firm’s clients. This role requires strong technical knowledge in accounting and tax laws, analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple client assignments efficiently. The Middle-Level Associate supports senior team members by preparing reports, conducting fieldwork, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
This position is ideal for CA Interqualified or semi-qualified professionals with relevant experience, seeking to develop their career in auditing, taxation, and accounting within a reputed CA firm.
Key Responsibilities:
Audit and Assurance:

Conduct audit fieldwork including verification of financial statements, ledgers, and supporting documents.

Assist in planning and executing statutory audits, internal audits, and tax audits.

Identify audit risks and communicate findings to senior staff.

Prepare audit schedules, working papers, and documentation according to audit standards.

Ensure compliance with relevant accounting principles (e.g., IND AS, IFRS, or local GAAP).
Taxation:

Assist in preparing and filing various tax returns such as Income Tax, GST, TDS, and other indirect taxes.

Support in tax planning and advisory activities for clients.

Keep updated with changes in tax laws and regulations.

Assist in handling tax assessments, notices, and queries from tax authorities.
Accounting and Financial Reporting:

Maintain and review bookkeeping and accounting records.

Prepare financial statements, balance sheets, and P&L accounts.

Perform bank reconciliations, account analysis, and ledger maintenance.

Assist clients in managing accounting software and financial reporting tools.
Client Coordination and Communication:

Liaise with clients for timely collection of data and documentation.

Address client queries and provide regular updates on assignments.

Support senior team members in client presentations and meetings.
Documentation and Compliance:

Ensure proper documentation and adherence to firm policies and procedures.

Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive financial information.

Assist in internal compliance audits and quality control processes.
Skills and Competencies:
Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge of accounting standards, auditing standards, and tax laws.

Proficiency in accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, or SAP.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
