Position Purpose

As a Middleware Integration Engineer, will be in a hands-on role which will focus on iterative learning, designing, building, and demonstrating of skills on continually evolving set of Middleware technology stack, DevOps tools and best practices across the organization including automated testing, provisioning, configuration management, service orchestration, and dynamic monitoring.

Strong expertise on Websphere/MQ/Tomcat/Apache/IIS/Linux/Windows is required for this position and to be assessed during technical interview.

Responsibilities

As a Middleware Integration Engineer:

  • Work within a team of like-minded professionals to plan, deploy, and maintain critical business applications.
  • Be responsible for configuring the infrastructure (e.g. IIS, Tomcat) and installing applications on both Windows and UNIX platforms, according to application requirements
  • Review application installation documentations, Execute the installation, and Automate the installation and/or deployment process, as applicable
  • Ensure that the installation is done in accordance with the standards and best practices
  • Follow security guidelines to implement technical solution to remediate vulnerability found and mitigate it in various environments.
  • Be responsible in improving system/application performances & stabilizing it in all environments.
  • Participate in the Agile DevOps culture by doing development, testing, and release of new capabilities and features with focus on release and post-deployment support.
  • Develop and implement Windows PS (OR) UNIX shell scripts to automate server/service/process restarts, housekeeping, and other technical day to day activities
  • Assist Technical and Functional Support teams in troubleshooting infrastructure (WAS/MQ/Apache/Tomcat/IIS/Linux/AIX/Windows) and application-related issues on both Production and Lower environments as and when needed.
  • Identify reoccurring issues and work with IT & Business partners to remediate using the problem management process.
  • Be flexible to Work and Support scheduled out-of-business hour deployment activities (weeknights or weekends).

  • Technical & Behavioral Competencies

    Qualification & Experience
    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification required
    • 4-6 years of overall experience working on Middleware-related technology stack on both UNIX and Windows platforms with a good mix as given below:

    Mandatory
    • 4+ years hands-on implementation of IBM WebSphere product suite (WAS and MQ)
    • 3+ years hands-on set-up of OpenSource products like Apache HTTPD and Tomcat
    • 4+ years hands-on experience on Windows Server 2012,2016 & Linux Administration
    • 1+ years hands-on experience on Ansible
    • Strong understanding on IIS, MS SQL DB and Oracle DB
    • Strong Windows PS (OR) Unix shell scripting to automate manual tasks
    • Critical and Analytical thinker with strong problem solving aptitude
    • Hands-on experience in working on both Production and Non-Production environments
    • Strong understanding of Incident, Problem, and Change management processes
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills

    Good to have
    • Basic understanding of networking and DMZ setup.
    • Knowledge of Autosys Scheduling tool or the like, GIT and Docker
  • Basic understanding on project management and ITIL practices.
  • Basic understanding of Agile methodologies with focus on Scrum Framework
