Eligibility :  Steel Chair will be appointed from among the suitable persons with proven expertise in offering state of the art courses on technology of steel, its utilization and in carrying out research and development of advanced steels of high economic denomination. Following persons shall be eligible to apply for the post: Academics:  Professor/Dean having outstanding academic and research records. Ø All grades subordinate to the Professor, by whatever name known, in the Institute e.g. Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, Lecturer etc. having outstanding academic and research records. Industry:  Persons having relevant experience as per disciplines given below paragraph/column. Experts: Individual having experience of working in any of the areas related with steel

Salary/Perks :  1. Salary as per the recommendations of the 7th CPC for the post of Professor. 2. A maximum of Rs. 4 lakhs per year shall be provided under the scheme as contingency allowance to meet the expenses towards organizing special lectures, conferences, attending seminars, workshops, meetings within the country, attending various meetings of Ministry of Steel and other infrastructure requirements, if any. These shall be on the production of proof of actual expenses and a part of reimbursable allowances. 3. Incentive of up to Rs. 1 lakhs can be considered under the scheme for publishing research work in international journals of repute (top 5 journals identified under the scheme) as well as attending international conference for presenting such research work within a maximum limit of five times in career span.
