Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Motherboard and Telecom PCB Repair Technician/Engineer to join our technical team. This role involves hands-on component-level troubleshooting and repair of a wide range of printed circuit boards (PCBs), including those used in telecom, networking, and computing devices. The ideal candidate will be proficient in diagnosing circuit-level failures, interpreting complex schematics, and executing precise repairs using electronic tools and testing equipment.
This is a critical technical position responsible for restoring high-value electronic equipment to working condition and ensuring minimal turnaround time with high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Component-Level Troubleshooting

Perform detailed diagnostics and fault isolation on PCBs and telecom hardware down to the component level.

Analyze failed boards to identify defective ICs, transistors, capacitors, and resistors.

Apply troubleshooting techniques for analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits.
2. Equipment Testing and Repair
-
Use electronic testing instruments such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, LCR meters, and RF test equipment to measure and verify circuit performance.

Test and replace faulty active and passive components (ICs, resistors, diodes, capacitors, transformers, etc.).

Perform soldering and de-soldering of SMD and through-hole components using hot air and precision soldering tools.
3. BIOS and Firmware Management

Re-program BIOS and perform firmware flashing on motherboards, telecom cards, and other embedded systems when necessary.

Utilize specialized tools for EEPROM or Flash IC programming.

Maintain and update firmware databases to ensure compatibility and efficiency.
4. Documentation and Reporting
-
Maintain accurate records of diagnostic steps, repair processes, and replacement parts used for each repair case.

Generate test reports and logs to track performance metrics and root cause analysis.

Ensure all repairs comply with the company’s quality control procedures and customer requirements.
5. Schematic and Datasheet Interpretation
-
Read and understand complex electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, block diagrams, and datasheets.

Utilize this knowledge for effective signal tracing and fault diagnosis.

Document and highlight recurring faults or design issues for R&D feedback.
6. Telecom Hardware Specialization
-
Repair and maintain telecom components such as RRHs (Remote Radio Heads), Microcells, MMUs (Main Module Units), Control Cards, Channel Cards, and Duplexers.

Troubleshoot RF, baseband, and power management sections commonly found in telecom equipment.

Perform functional testing and calibration of telecom modules post-repair.
7. Quality Assurance and ESD Safety

Follow ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) protection protocols in the lab environment.

Ensure all repairs meet reliability and functionality standards before re-deployment.

Contribute to internal process improvement by providing technical input and repair feedback.
8. Inventory & Tool Maintenance

Track repair parts inventory and request replacements as needed.
-
Maintain tools, soldering equipment, and test benches in good condition for optimal performance.

Perform periodic calibration and verification of testing instruments.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Education
-
Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field

Certification in PCB Repair, Soldering (IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/7721) or Telecom Hardware is a plus
Experience
-
2–5 years of hands-on experience in PCB repair and electronics diagnostics

Experience with telecom equipment repair, motherboard servicing, and embedded electronics preferred

Experience working in ISO-certified labs or telecom service centers is desirable
Technical Skills
-
Proficient in using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, soldering stations, rework stations, and other testing tools

Strong knowledge of RF circuitry, SMPS, microcontroller-based systems, and power electronics

Familiarity with tools like ST-Link, JTAG programmers, and BIOS/UEFI flashing tools

Ability to interpret complex schematics, datasheets, and service manuals
