Job Description
MSBI Developer requirements and qualifications
BE/M Tech degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
2 to 4 years of experience as a SQL Developer/ MSBI (SSAS) specialist or similar role
2 to 3 years of experience with SQL Server, SQL Server Analysis Services and Power BI
1-year experience with Microsoft Azure - SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Web jobs, Logic Apps
Excellent data warehousing concepts understanding - Data Modeling, Normalization, Slowly changing dimensions, etc
Excellent understanding of MS Azure platform, Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Analysis Services, SQL/ MDX/ DAX programming
Understanding of version control - GIT and CI/CD (Continuous Integration/ Continuous Deployment)
Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s success
Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
Team player
Good time-management skills
Great interpersonal and communication skills and a positive attitude
Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle.
Passion for technology and knowledge
MSBI Developer duties and responsibilities
Development of high-quality database solutions on Microsoft Azure/ Google Cloud Platform
Develop, implement and optimize stored procedures and functions using SQL
Develop Multidimensional/ Tabular cubes in SSAS and build complex measures using MDX queries
Research required data and perform overall data analysis
Build appropriate and useful reporting deliverables using Power BI
Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements and implement optimization techniques
Ability to adapt with various cloud computing platforms - Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP - Migration from on-prem to Cloud solutions
Develop and update technical documentation
Research and apply the learning of new technologies in day to day deliveries
Responsibilities demand good logical reasoning and decision making thought process
Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
