Institute of Life Sciences, Bhubaneswar, invites applications from the motivated students for admission to the Integrated MSc-PhD Degree Program in Biotechnology for the session starting from August 2018.
Duration of Course: The duration of the Integrated MSc-PhD degree program is for a minimum of 5 years and a maximum of 7 years.
Affiliation: Degree will be awarded by Regional Centre for Biotechnology, Faridabad, an Institution of National Importance as recognized by the Parliament of India.
Eligibility Criteria: Indian Nationals with 60% aggregate marks (or an equivalent grade point average) in Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science, Engineering, or Medicine are eligible to apply for admission. Students from SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer), and PWD categories shall be given a relaxation of 5% aggregate marks. Students in the final year of their qualifying degree program are also eligible to apply provided that they produce a proof of having secured the required marks in their undergraduate degree program at the time of admission to the Integrated MSc-PhD program.
Number of Seats: 20 (There shall be reservation of seats for students from SC, ST, OBC and PWD categories as per the regulations of Govt. of India in this regard).
Age: The candidate should be below 25 years in age, as on 10th July, 2018.
Eligible students are required to appear for an Entrance Examination conducted by ILS, Bhubaneswar. Shortlisted students, based on their performance in the examination, will be called for an interview for their final selection to the Integrated MSc-PhD program. The interview is to assess the student for his/her science aptitude and interest in a career in scientific research and development.
Application Fees: Applicants except SC/ST candidates are required to send a non-refundable D.D. for Rs.500/- in favour of “Director, Institute of Life Sciences, Bhubaneswar” payable at Bhubaneswar along with duly filled-in application form by the date mentioned below, for each research area.
