National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) invites application for the position Junior Research Fellow

Position: Junior Research Fellow — One

Essential qualification: 1st Class M.Sc. in Nutrition/Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/Food Science and Nutrition/Food Technology/Other life sciences from a recognized University qualified with ICMR/CSIR/UGC/DST/DBT NET JRF Exam With JRF Fellowship Only. Candidates Qualified For NET For Project JRF Or Lectureship Are Not Eligible To Apply.

Desirable Qualification: Prior research experience, Nutrient analysis, Handling analytical equipments.

Areas of research: Nutrient and Antinutrient profiling of different rice cultivars

Stipend: As per rules of ICMR / CSIR / DBT / DST / UGC. The candidates should bring all originals certificates of educational qualifications, ICMR/CSIR/DST/DBT NET JRF-fellowship qualified letter and Community Certificate along with a set of photocopies of the same duly self attested and latest passport size photo and complete bio-data while attending the personal discussion/interview.

Age Limit: Below 26 years as on the date of notification.

National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) was founded by Sir Robert McCarrison in the year 1918 as ‘Beri-Beri’ Enquiry Unit in a single room laboratory at the Pasteur Institute, Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. Within a short span of seven years, this unit blossomed into a 'Deficiency Disease Enquiry' and later in 1928, emerged as full-fledged 'Nutrition Research Laboratories' (NRL) with Dr. McCarrison as its first Director. It was shifted to Hyderabad in 1958.
