National Institute of Oceanography Goa (NIO Goa) invites applications for the position of Senior Project Associate, Project Associate I
CSIR – National Institute of Oceanography, a constituent national laboratory of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research Institute (CSIR), invites applications from eligible candidates for recruitment of the following project staff, purely on a temporary contractual basis to carry out research work on the R&D project and to be engaged in NIO Head Quarters, Goa.
1. Position: Senior Project Associate
2. No. of. Posts: 01
3. Tenure: 6 Months
4. Essential Qualification: M.Sc Oceanography / Marine Science / Physical Oceanography with a minimum of four years of research experience related to ocean surface waves and littoral drift
5. Desirable Qualification & Job Requirement:
Experience in deployment of waverider buoy and data analysis and numerical modeling of nearshore wave transformation. Wave data analysis and preparation of project reports and scientific papers. Participation in field data collection for waves using waverider buoys in Indian coastal waters.
6. Monthly Emoluments (Rs.): Rs.42000/- Plus HRA as per rules

2. No. of. Posts: 01
3. Tenure: 5 Months
4. Essential Qualification: M.Sc Geology / Applied Geology / Earth Science / Marine Science with specialization in Marine Geology
5. Desirable Qualification & Job Requirement: Experience in working on marine sediments and picking microfossils. The selected candidate has to help in collecting the marine sediments, processing the sediments, and picking microfossils.
6. Monthly Emoluments (Rs.): Rs.25000/- Plus HRA as per rules
7. Project: Delineating the factors affecting biogenic carbonate dissolution in the western Bay of Bengal and reconstructing its temporal variation during the last glacial-interglacial interval
