Job Description

National Tuberculosis Institute (NTI), a Government of India Organization under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare invites application for appointment of the following posts on Contractual basis at National Reference Laboratory, NTI, Bengaluru for a period of one year.

1. Post Name: Biotechnologist

2. No of Post: 01

3. Consolidated Salary: 65,000-00

4. Qualification: Ph.D. in Biotechnology / Molecular Biology (OR) M.Sc. Biotechnology / Molecular Biology

5. Experience: Three years of work experience in TB Bacteriology/ Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology Five years of work experience in TB Bacteriology/ Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology

6. Nature of duties:

Overall responsible for co-ordination of EQA-NRL, DRS, DST activities, facilitating training programme. To monitor laboratory performance (for all technologies and methods followed by the respective laboratories) in states/UTs, provide periodic feedback to NTI/ CTD and Generate reports. Co-ordinate with Bio-medical Engineer in upkeep and maintenance of the laboratory equipment, logistics and supervising Data entry activities.

7. Duration: 1 year

Age Limit:

Not Exceeding 35 Years

The ICMR survey of 1955-58 showed that there were 4 sputum smear positive cases and 16 radiologically positive cases of pulmonary TB per 1000 population and this problem was equally distributed in rural and urban areas. Considering the magnitude of the problem, a need was felt for formulating a programme addressing these issues.
