Job Description
Applications are invited to attend "Interview (in-person/ online through video conferencing)" for the posts of YP-1I(01) under the Bioversity International funded project Pre-breeding for genetic enhancement of chili, beans and peas using crop wild relatives" at ICAR- NBPGR, New Delhi as mentioned below (Owing to the prevailing COVID- 19 crisis, candidates may choose for interview either in-person or through online process).
1. Post Name: Young Professional-II
2. Emoluments: Rs. Rs.35,000/ per month (fixed)
3. Project period: Sept 2021 to Aug, 2024 or till the completion of the project, whichever is earlier
4. Sub Project: Pre-breeding for genetic enhancement of chilli, beans and peas using crop wild relatives
5. Essential qualification: Master's Degree (including M. Tech) in Biotechnology Plant breeding/ Molecular Biology/ Life Sciences Bioinformatics or related subjects from a recognized University or equivalent.
6. Desirable Qualification: Experience management of plant genetic resources, crop wild relatives & vegetable breeding.
Age Limit:
Upper age limit: 45 years

In an unprecedented initiative, NBPGR, for the first time, has characterized and evaluated (preliminary) entire germplasm of wheat (22000 accessions comprising T. aestivum, T. durum and T. dicoccum) conserved in the National Genebank, at three locations in during Rabi 2011-12. At CCS HAU, Hisar, the wheat accessions have been characterized under optimum conditions. Data on 32 agro-morphological characters are used to develop a core-set.
