Job Description
NC Program Engineer
- Understand the manufacturing requirement by studying the Design drawings for linear and geometrical accuracies to be achieved on the part.
- Decide on locating, clamping and orienting features based on the part configuration and the accuracies to be achieved.
- Design the component clamping fixtures based on the machine and operations to be performed.
- Generate the NX CAM file by deciding on sequence of operations, adopting suitable manufacturing methodologies and by selecting proper tools with optimized operating parameters like cutting speeds. feeds and depth of cut.
- Adhere to the well-defined and mutually agreed key metrics like completing target number of NC programs per month, achieve RFT levels, on time performance, Lead times and actual vs estimated time of programming.
- Participate in improving the NC programming process by documenting the design process and by creating the check lists.
- Work with global manufacturing facilities to support NC programming requirements.
- Participate in lean initiatives and support team in implementing continuous improvement actions through problem solving.
- Support NC programming team by developing NC programs for five axis CNC machines.
- Ensure safe and clean environment by conforming to the requirements as laid down by EHS department.
- Maintain all compliance with respect to safety and quality.
