Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Curriculum Delivery

Teach Social Studies subjects (History, Civics, Economics, and Geography) as prescribed by the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) for Grades 8, 9, and 10.

Prepare detailed lesson plans in alignment with the Karnataka state syllabus, ensuring all required topics are covered.

Employ a variety of instructional methods including lectures, discussions, multimedia presentations, role-playing, and project-based learning to engage students and enhance understanding.

Integrate textbook content with real-world applications to make learning more relatable and impactful.

Stay up-to-date with changes or updates in the Karnataka state syllabus and adjust teaching materials accordingly.
2. Classroom Management
-
Create a positive and structured classroom environment that encourages respect, discipline, and active participation.

Use effective classroom management strategies to maintain student focus and discipline during lessons.

Monitor student behavior and take appropriate action in accordance with school policies.
3. Student Assessment and Progress Tracking
-
Design, assign, and grade classwork, homework, tests, projects, and assignments to evaluate student progress.

Conduct periodic formative and summative assessments in line with the Karnataka Board exam format.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including attendance, assessment scores, and behavioral notes.

Provide regular and constructive feedback to students and parents on academic performance and areas for improvement.
4. Parent and Stakeholder Communication

Participate in parent-teacher meetings (PTMs) to discuss student progress, challenges, and achievements.

Communicate with parents via emails, phone calls, or school portals as needed to address specific concerns.

Collaborate with colleagues, department heads, and school leadership to ensure the academic success of each student.
5. Extracurricular and Enrichment Activities

Encourage students to participate in debates, model parliaments, quizzes, and other co-curricular activities related to social sciences.

Plan and accompany students on field trips or educational visits related to the curriculum, such as heritage sites, government institutions, or museums.
6. Professional Development

Attend workshops, seminars, and training sessions organized by the school or external bodies to enhance teaching skills and subject knowledge.

Stay informed about current events, social issues, and pedagogical trends relevant to Social Studies education.
7. Ethical and Administrative Responsibilities

Maintain professional conduct in all interactions with students, parents, and colleagues.

Submit lesson plans, student evaluations, and other required documentation within deadlines.
